Halloween Retrospective

We didn’t get a single trick-or-treater on Halloween night! We had our big bowl of candy ready, pumpkins carved and displayed in the window, a colorful halloween sticker next to the buzzer on the door. But no kids came. Oh well. I probably wouldn’t let MY kids out of the house in this neighborhood at night. Which is a shame, really.

In more cheerful news, the past few days have been filled with the getting of cool stuff! Billy got his Canon GL2 digital video camera in the other day, which is a very awesome camera, one of the best that Canon makes. Since Billy’s birthday is on the 9th of November, I got him a Griffin Powemate. It is basically a big machined aluminum knob. It looks and feels like it came off of a high-end stereo system or something. The base glows blue with deeply imbedded LEDs. You can assign the twisting and pressing of it to any actions you want. Volume control, scrolling up and down, scrubbing video and audio, etc. Video editors love them because they can move through video tracks in a very natural way.

Also, yesterday I got a new/old scooter! The Honda Aero 125 that I had mentioned before finally got here! Its a 1985, with just under 8000 miles on it. It has a 125cc two-stroke engine, a top speed of around 50mph, and cost me only 300 dollars! Its clearly not as good of a scooter as my Aprilia, which I still fully intend to replace, but it will hold me over until then. However, since this is over 50c, I have to register it as a motorcycle, and get a motorcycle license. Oh well.

I’ll post pictures of it later!
