First Day of Work

Today is my first day at my new job teaching science to people of all ages at the local science museum. My job description includes the line “Make science fun and stimulating for everyone who comes to the center.” And that’s a job description I can live with. Wish me luck.

UPDATE: First day went well! It was a touch boring, because a lot of it was just paperwork, getting ID photos taken, getting parking passes, etc. But I met a lot of people I’d be working with, and got free lunch, so it was nice. Tomorrow I get more ‘orientation’ but then its full bore.

    Enjoy yourself! What is the name of the place you work? I work with a lady from St Louis. By the by, I’ll be in the St Louis airport for approx an hour on Sunday on my way from here to elsewhere. I know it wouldn’t work for you to stop by, but I just wanted you to know so when you feel a distortion in the space/time continuum, you’ll know why. “oh, crap….what just happened?! Oh, yeah, it was just mom. she said this might happen.” I love you, sweetie!

    I work at the St. Louis Science Center (http://www.slsc.org) I had been reluctant to actually say where it was before, since I didn’t officially have the job till today, but now that I’ve got it, I suppose I can say whatever I want. :)

    I’m a Gallery Assistant in the Physical Sciences gallery. It was a new position created recently to bring some fresh meat into the galleries and shake things up a little bit. I’m excited about it!

    Congrats, Sam! As you know, i am also trying to get my (at this point) dream job. I think that I need a blog also. Except then, I would be sad when no one read it ;)
