Chilled Out

I’m feeling a bit cold for the first time in many months. Its actually a rather refreshing feeling. The weather finally became cool enough to warrant a jacket for scooting. However, the jacket I have is becoming worn out, and the zipper is failing. This is a shame. I’ve needed a new jacket for other reasons though, so the replacement was inevitable.

I’m posting a photo of my Timbuk2 bag which is equipped with a custom patch. I was using a piece of scrap denim to practice on, when I created the patch. It was originally just a test piece, but I liked it enough to affix it to my bag.

It is held on through the magic that is heat activated glues. It comes in a sort of webbing that, when placed between two layers of fabric and activated with a hot iron, produces a very serious bond between the layers. I think I like the stuff, and will probably be using it for more patches. The brand I have is called Stitch Witchery, and it can be found at many fabric/craft stores.
