Good for you, son! I know you have missed bartering, dehydrating, and wearing sarongs, so your mom and I are sending you a gift package to celebrate your Burning Man trip.

And oh by the way, HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY, 14 August!

Love,
Dad and Mom

DAMN YOU! I've wanted to go since I heard about it years ago. However, there is this big limitation that you lack, Sam. It's called high school. Arg. Stupid school starting on the stupid 18th of stupid August. Lucky bastard.

YAYYYYYYYY

but remember absolutely NO WATERMELONS or TURKEYS in the portapotties!

There are some thoughts that I would like to ad regarding the economy. Some people are adherents to something known as a Gift Economy where you give something to someone without expectations for returns. It's a subtle difference that some argue cannot fundamentally exist because of the limitations of the human psyche. Fortunately Burning Man is a place where regular limitations don't quite apply...

Perhaps I can alter some of my plans and catch up to you in San Jose before I head to south korea.
